Genesis 24-25
Blessings in God
God blessed Abraham in every way. Not only did Abraham have the promised son, but he also had a good marriage to Sarah. Abraham had vast amounts of wealth, land, and servants. But more than that, Abraham had a close and personal relationship with God. Abraham walked with God and lived in the blessings of God.
What are some ways God has blessed you? Write a prayer of thanksgiving to the One who has given you everything (Psalm 100:4).

Amazing faithfulness in prayer
As soon as Abraham’s servant arrives in his destination, he finds a well and prays that Isaac’s wife will offer water for him and his camels. This was not an easy task because the act of drawing water would have taken over an hour for the 10 camels since each can drink up to 20 gallons. Before he finished praying, Rebekah came to the well.
The servant’s prayer for a wife was very specific. He expected God to show up. When you pray, are you specific in what you are asking? Do you actually expect that God will show up (Psalm 107:28)?

Faithfulness to God in hard work
Before the servant announced that this woman would be Isaac’s wife, he first waited to see if Rebekah was a woman of her word. So often it is easy to say we will serve, but once we see how much work is actually required, we give up. There were probably many times during the hour of drawing 200 gallons of water that Rebekah wanted to give up, but she carried through and showed amazing faithfulness to her word.
How often do you say you will serve, only to give up when you realize the work required (James 1:4)? Are you in a situation that you want to give up? How can you remain faithful (Romans 5:3-4)?
Faithfulness to future generations
At the end of Genesis 25, Esau showed that he did not care about the birthright because it would be fulfilled in future generations, not serving him now. Esau was eager to trade the promise of God for momentary pleasure.
Do you know that you will have influence on the future generations? How do you use your life to influence them? Do your actions direct people towards God (Psalms 78:5-7)?
