This post is all about Bible journaling stickers. Here I will show you different ways to use stickers in your Bible journal, as well as share some of the best stickers for Bible journaling.
Bible journaling is a great way to grow closer to God as you study His word. One reason this is true is because journaling forces you to slow down and really consider what you are reading, instead of simply skimming the text to check a box on your to-do list.

There are two main ways you can Bible journal. The first is a more aesthetic version of Bible journaling, where you use large drawings or text to highlight key points of the scripture. The second way many people choose to Bible journal is by taking a lot of very detailed notes directly in their Bible to reference later. Both of these ways of journaling are great for engaging with the text and drawing closer to God.
One way to take either version of Bible journaling even deeper is by using stickers. Stickers can be used to add more aesthetic touches to the page, highlight key verses or points, and make important notes stand out even more.

Why use stickers in your Bible journal?
Although stickers are not necessary for Bible journaling (I am a huge proponent that you only need a pen or pencil to get started and see a different in your daily Bible reading), they can be a great tool to help you reflect on God’s word. They can help accomplish this through:
- Creative worship – Expressing praise, gratitude, and prayers through art.
- Visual reinforcement – drawing attention to a verse or quote that stands out or has important meaning to you.
- Accessibility – (especially for those who are not naturally artistic) – stickers give quick beauty to your page without having to fuss over trying to draw something yourself.
- Encouragement – bold and beautiful uplifting words, phrases, and pictures can brighten hard days.
- Saving time – Stickers are a great option for busy moms, students, working women, and everyone in between.

What are Bible journaling stickers?
Bible journaling stickers are decorative or functional stickers that can be used to enhance your quiet time with the Lord. Although there are many stickers designed specifically for Bible journaling, you can also use regular stickers if you know what to look for.
When searching for stickers to use in your Bible, it is important to remember that Bible pages are much thinner than regular paper, so you will want to stick to lightweight stickers to avoid tearing your pages. You will also want to avoid the 3D or puffy stickers that will add too much volume to your Bible, preventing it from closing.
Common Styles of Bible journaling stickers
There are a few different styles of Bible journaling stickers, which include faith phrases and scriptures, aesthetic pictures and icons, and functional stickers.
Faith phrases and scriptural stickers are what usually come up when searching for Bible journaling stickers.
Aesthetic pictures and icons can include florals, crosses, hearts and so much more. I love using these types of stickers when I am Bible journaling through a book and I assign a “theme” to it, such as hot air balloons.
Functional stickers are a great way to add a colorful touch to your journaling Bible with a purpose. These include Bible tabs, labels, and washi tape to hold extra notes.
Common formats of Bible journaling stickers
Just as there are different styles of stickers that can be used, there are also a few different formats. These include: printable vs. pre-cut, transparent vs. matte, and vinyl vs. paper.
Printable stickers are those that you can download (usually off of Etsy or independent websites) and print off on sticker paper. These tend to be a cost effective option and can be customized in some cases. Pre-cut stickers are those you buy ready to go. They come ready to peel and stick.
Transparent stickers are those that are printed on a clear plastic backing, so you can see underneath them. These are a great option for Bible journaling because you don’t have to worry about matching the sticker background to your Bible page. Matte stickers are those with a white or solid background that you cannot see through.
Vinyl stickers are very popular these days, and with good reason. They are generally a durable option that is long lasting and waterproof, and can be used for various things (think stickers on a water bottle). Paper stickers are more cost effective, and are a great option for scrapbooking and Bible journaling.
How to use stickers while Bible Journaling
The ways that you can use stickers in your Bible journal are as endless as your imagination. The process I usually go through when adding stickers to my page looks something like this:
- Choose a passage – Before I even pull out the sticker book, I choose a verse or section that I want to focus on. Typically I read whatever is next in my Bible read-through.
- Pray – Before I begin reading the passage, I pause to pray and ask God to guide my time in His word.
- Read – I read through the passage, often using commentaries or Bible dictionaries to gain deeper understanding.
- Design Layout – I like to take various notes as I read along, but I will often lay out the design before committing to it so I know everything will fit on the page.
- Set the aesthetic – During this phase, I find different stickers and elements that make my design pop. Sometimes it is simple, while other times the design fills the page.
Types of Stickers to use in Bible journal
As mentioned above, there are so many different types of Bible journaling stickers. These are some of my favorite options when it comes to adding stickers to my Bible.
Scripture stickers
Scripture stickers can include either the full verse, a paraphrase of the verse, or even just a few words from a verse. These types of stickers are great for cross-referencing in your Bible or using them as focal points or memory verse highlights.
Faith-based word stickers
Faith-based word stickers typically include single words such as “grace” “faith” “amen” “hope” ect. These are good for when a section of scripture has a theme that you want to highlight and take extra notes on. They are also good for layering or adding meaning to the page.
Decorative stickers
Decorative stickers are some of my favorite for Bible journaling. They include florals, patterns, doodles, borders, banners, boxes, and so much more. These types of stickers enhance the aesthetic of the page without drawing too much attention away from the Word of God. I love to add these types of stickers when I am finished taking notes to fill in gaps and add interest to my pages.
Functional stickers
Functional stickers include Bible book tabs (so you can easily flip to the book), labels, reading plans, tabbed sections, and adhering extra notes to the page.
Seasonal or themed sticker sets
Seasonal stickers are a fun option for journaling about the birth (Christmas) or resurrection (easter) of Christ, as well as different Jewish holiday stickers to help you understand the culture. These can be a great choice for themed devotionals and studies.
Themed stickers can include different Biblical themes (fruit of the spirit, gratitude) or they can be a picture, pattern, or color theme that you choose to use for an entire book of the Bible.
Where to find Bible journaling stickers
My favorite place to find stickers for Bible journaling is on Amazon because of the vast assortment and easy access.
You can also use etsy for printable stickers. These can be downloaded to your computer and then you can either use sticker paper or regular paper and a gluestick.
Another great place to find stickers is in any craft store. I love to peruse the sticker isles of hobby lobby for new inspiration, and even stores such as Walmart and target have great selections for themes.
Other ways to use Bible journaling stickers
Stickers are a fun option to add interest to your Bible page, but you don’t have to stop there! If you are the type of person that prefers to reflect on your quiet time in a separate journal, feel free to let your creativity flow there as well.
Journals are great for taking notes and adding stickers or scrapbook paper because there is so much more room to arrange the elements since you are not working within the 2-inch margin of your Bible.
No matter how you choose to use stickers – whether directly in you Journaling Bible or in a separate notebook – you will have so much fun as you creatively engage with the Word of God.
